CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

We have not started to research this hospital, but you can see what comments are for hospitals with similar patient satisfaction rates:

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at Alliancehealth Durant but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Don't go to Dameron, policies and processes are not well put together, staff is unhappy, management doesn't pay attention to teams.

Unsafe practices, old and disconnected systems, poor safety practices. Don't go there, I wouldn't refer my loved ones to Dameron Hospital.

Great teamwork, but staffing ratios are a downside. Good doctors and nurses. Would recommend for family members.

Recommended for cardiac events, but limitations in resources can cause delays, particularly for non-cardiac cases. Top-rated for cardiac care in Kansas City.

Better care in ICU/critical care, new grads in med/surg, low staffing ratios affect quality of care.

Overall, good job, caring nurses, lack of medical oversight impacting care quality.

Depends on the care needed, but for general illnesses, we provide good care; specialized treatment should be sought elsewhere.

Mostly comfortable, excel in cardiology, majority of hospitalists are excellent, lack expertise in certain specialties, ICU's care and knowledge level needs improvement, young nurses lack experience.

Highly skilled and dedicated medical staff, definitely recommend hospital for loved ones, especially in the Emergency Department.

Decline in hospital quality since Adventist Health took over, more confident in ICU, depends on loved one's unit.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Alliancehealth Durant focuses on providing healthcare services but has received low overall patient satisfaction. Some patients have reported challenges related to the cleanliness of the hospital. The hospital's mortality rates are average across all measured areas. The hospital's emergency room has an average wait time of 2-3 hours, which is typical compared to other healthcare facilities. However, Alliancehealth Durant falls short in effectively treating conditions such as heart attacks, heart failure, and pneumonia, resulting in a higher likelihood of patients returning to the hospital. On the positive side, the hospital performs above average in ensuring patients do not acquire infections during their stay.
