CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Perform high-quality care, but expect long wait times. Nice ICU, good team of physicians, surgeons, and providers. Overall, really good job.

Excellent care from coworkers, but not enough time for each patient. Common challenge in healthcare. Committed to doing our best.

Great care, concerns about upper floor staff. High turnover, lack of established culture. Limited services, not recommended for certain things.

Good hospital, not recommended for ED due to lack of support staff. Other hospitals have more resources for safe patient care.

Smaller hospital allows for more personalized care and attention to patients due to fewer patients to care for.

The nursing staff is incredible, but the lack of resources and physician availability would influence my opinion on Menorah.

Don't go to Dameron, policies and processes are not well put together, staff is unhappy, management doesn't pay attention to teams.

Good hospital, no problem with someone going, not as advanced in technology, environment needs updating.

Emergency Dept recommended for better care, floor nurses less welcoming due to heavy patient load.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

According to the CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data, University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center received an average overall patient satisfaction rating. Patients reported that the care team can be slow at times in meeting their needs. Additionally, the hospital is average in every measured mortality rate. However, it is worth noting that the hospital does an exceptional job of ensuring patients at the hospital do not get infections. On the downside, the hospital has a long ER wait time, where it takes on average over 3 hours for patients to be seen and treated.
