CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

These comments are not from nurses at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Covenant has strong values, motto is 'everyone matters', and aims to provide the best care for every individual.

Covenant is one of the best hospitals, but I have concerns about the quality of care during the COVID pandemic.

Definitely recommend Covenant hospital; confident in their new charting system.

Overall feeling: Hospital care could be better post-pandemic; budget issues lead to cheaper supplies; core staff underappreciated; travel nurses given better incentives.

Legacy Emanuel: overall recommended, outlying hospitals inconsistent, violence-prone population, witnessed safety disasters, encounters with individuals carrying weapons, improving safety measures.

Emanuel is the best hospital for all healthcare needs; I send my own family here.

It depends on the unit. ED turnover is high. Good experience in OB and PACU units. Wouldn't send family to ED unless basic. Lots of travelers.

Our systems hinder us, we miss truly listening to patients. Failed treatments and lack of comprehensive care. Advocate needed 24/7.

Nurses go above and beyond, prioritizing patient safety, well-being, and prompt communication with doctors for problem resolution.

Quality of care at WakeMed North is pretty good. Would definitely recommend to a loved one. Low ratios allow personalized care. Staff genuinely loves what they are doing.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center maintains an average overall patient satisfaction rating. Patients have reported that the care team may at times be slow in meeting their needs. Additionally, the hospital has a longer than average wait time in the emergency room, with patients waiting over 3 hours on average to be seen and treated. It is worth noting that the hospital does not fare well in treating conditions such as heart failure and pneumonia, leading to a higher than desired readmission rate. However, the hospital excels in safeguarding patients against infections, demonstrating exceptional efforts in this area.
