CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Truman is preferred due to its smaller size, allowing for a more personal experience compared to the larger KU hospital.
Recommend hospital, but choose doctors/nurses carefully.
Overall, the nurse feels that the quality of care in their hospital is good, but wishes they could do more.
Good place for care, trust the physicians and nursing staff, would recommend to family, comfortable letting them care for me.
Variable quality of care, some doctors untrustworthy.
Quality of care in our hospital depends on specific service and unit.
Great care, but lacking due to staffing and overwhelming workload. Might not be timely or as expected, due to lack of resources and availability.
Lack of attention to patients. Concerned about understaffing and lack of communication. Patients unaware of treatment. Focus on documentation and money. Inadequate resources.
I would definitely recommend my friends and neighbors to come here for both elective and emergency care because we're pretty good.

Some good care, but seek care elsewhere at times. Good for quick help in trauma situations, but cardiac doctors prioritize revenue and don't always consider patient needs. Fast doctor, but poor outcomes.
Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Wayne Memorial Hospital provides an average overall patient satisfaction experience according to CMS HCAHPS patient ratings. The hospital displays average rates in all measured mortality areas. Additionally, patients may experience an extended wait time in the emergency room, with an average duration of over 3 hours for assessment and treatment. However, the hospital excels in effectively treating heart attack cases, resulting in fewer patient readmissions. Furthermore, the hospital maintains exceptional standards in infection prevention, ensuring a safe environment for patients within its facilities.
