CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight
These comments are not from nurses at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.
Great care, amazing nurses, great doctors, compassionate team - would recommend our hospital to someone I love.
Better seek care elsewhere. Staffing issues, overwhelmed staff, unable to establish connection with patients.
Hardworking staff, but apparent staffing issues; patients feel rushed, lack downtime, and may have delayed assistance.
Skilled nurses, extreme shortage, hesitant to refer family. Short-staffed, often 60%, 3 patients in ICU. Good community presence, corporate-driven focus on stakeholders.
Quality of care at the hospital is a 5/10; provider-dependent. Some are knowledgeable and provide great care, others, especially new grads, may not. Pandemic exposed weaknesses, need proper fixes.
Great care, chaotic unit, busy, but team works tirelessly to meet everyone's needs to the best of our ability.
Excellent quality of care with skilled team, teamwork, collaboration, and adequate staff including residents, interns, and nursing students.
Not recommending hospital, ED unit lacking, insufficient patient care.
Valley Baptist hospital is definitely preferable over our hospital.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Brookdale Hospital Medical Center received very low overall patient satisfaction ratings according to CMS HCAHPS data. Patients reported challenges with nurse communication and staff responsiveness to their needs. Communication about medications and discharge/follow-up instructions also posed challenges. Transitions between departments in the hospital were reported to be difficult. Patients expressed concerns about not being able to have a quiet rest in the hospital. The hospital has multiple significant high-patient-mortality concerns. The emergency room wait time is long, with patients waiting over 3 hours on average to be seen and treated. Although the hospital does not do a good job of treating conditions like pneumonia to prevent readmission, it does excel in ensuring patients at the hospital do not get infections.
