CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

St. Joseph's: kind, helpful, and caring. They treat you like family to help you get well.

"Extraordinary care in north tower. Patients on other floors don't receive the same level. DHR is the best hospital."

Quality of care varies, challenging on busy days. Staffing improved but still need more trained nurses and doctors in pediatrics.

Trust the quality of care, well-rounded specialties, great team, concerns about high utilization of LVNs compared to RNs.

Understaffed but dedicated nurses strive to provide quality care despite challenging conditions, going above and beyond for patients.

Exceptional nurses, hardworking doctors and staff, top-notch care, multitude of resources, best possible treatment. Very fortunate.

Good care for loved ones at this hospital.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Bellevue Hospital Center has received low overall patient satisfaction ratings based on CMS HCAHPS data. Patients have expressed significant challenges with the staff's responsiveness to their needs. Concerns were also raised regarding the ability to have quiet rest in the hospital. Furthermore, the hospital's mortality rates are average in comparison to other facilities. Patients have experienced lengthy wait times in the emergency room, with an average wait of over 3 hours for initial evaluation and treatment. Additionally, the hospital's performance in treating conditions such as heart attacks does not prevent patients from requiring readmission.
