Additionally, the hospital has a long emergency room wait time, averaging over 3 hours for patients to be seen and treated. Unfortunately, Mount Sinai South Nassau does not perform well in terms of treating conditions like heart attacks, heart failure, and pneumonia, resulting in a higher rate of patients needing to return to the hospital. However, it should be noted that the hospital excels in ensuring that patients do not contract infections during their stay.
