CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

We have not started to research this hospital, but you can see what comments are for hospitals with similar patient satisfaction rates:

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at BON Secours Community Hospital but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Emergency Dept recommended for better care, floor nurses less welcoming due to heavy patient load.

Recommended for cardiac events, but limitations in resources can cause delays, particularly for non-cardiac cases. Top-rated for cardiac care in Kansas City.

Quality of care good, but understaffed like all hospitals.

Overall, the nurse feels the hospital has good quality of care, a strong sense of family, and knowledge of each other. However, some departments are stronger than others, with the ER currently being the weakest.

Excellent care, 10/10. Personal experience confirms exceptional care, great staff, and high quality service at this hospital.

Amazing care, amazing staff. Great discussions with physicians. High level of care and attention. Unable to do certain procedures.

"I would prefer them to go to Dameron. Honestly, I would have them come because I would be there. There are nurses I would trust with my family."

Nursing care exceptional; quality of overall care dependent on assigned provider.

The nursing staff is incredible, but the lack of resources and physician availability would influence my opinion on Menorah.

Unsafe, understaffed, business-focused. Recommend the Plaza, better care, staffing ratios the same, residents, fellows, attending physicians at Barnes Jewish.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

BON Secours Community Hospital demonstrates average overall patient satisfaction based on CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data. The hospital achieves average results in every measured mortality rate. Additionally, the hospital maintains an average emergency room wait time, with patients typically seen and treated within 2-3 hours. However, BON Secours Community Hospital faces challenges in effectively treating conditions such as heart failure, which may result in patients needing to return to the hospital. Furthermore, the hospital has experienced difficulties with higher infection rates.
