CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight
These comments are not from nurses at New York-Presbyterian Hospital but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.
Reservations about care quality, uncomfortable bringing family, residents still learning, physicians don't listen, not enough time to educate, shortages, concerned about safety.
Exemplary care; competent nurses and doctors. I would choose St. Joseph for receiving care.
St. Joseph's is a good hospital despite some unfavorable experiences, with sometimes malfunctioning equipment causing upset amongst patients.
Good hospital, no problem with someone going, not as advanced in technology, environment needs updating.
Overall, the nurse does not recommend the ED due to issues and disagrees about referring loved ones because of the quality of care.
Depends on what they're looking for. Strong CT, cardiothoracic program. AHA-certified with stroke treatments, but all done via telehealth. Uncomfortable with Stanford consultations. Not for pediatrics.
Good care, great nurses, but policies need improvement. Challenging finding them; better accessibility needed for prompt access.
"I'd be good in my ICU, but med-surg floors have high turnover rate. MedSurg nurses lack comprehensive care, history knowledge. Don't want family in towers due to safety."
Depends on reason for care, aware of patient needs, advise against if necessary care not provided, multiple factors involved.

Quality of nurses decreased, recommend St. Joseph's, staffing and management issues, struggles on medical-surgical floor, inefficient transfers for neuro patients.
Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
According to CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data, New York-Presbyterian Hospital demonstrates an average level of overall patient satisfaction. Patients have reported that the care team may be somewhat slow in meeting their needs. Furthermore, the hospital has been found to have a lengthy wait time in its emergency room, with patients typically waiting over 3 hours before receiving treatment. However, the hospital appears to have room for improvement in terms of effectively treating conditions such as heart attacks and pneumonia, as some patients have had to return to the hospital for further treatment.
