CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

These comments are not from nurses at Presbyterian Hospital but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Covenant is one of the best hospitals, but I have concerns about the quality of care during the COVID pandemic.

100% commitment to patients, amazing teamwork, not feeling alone, always room for improvement.

We provide good care, but sometimes lack sufficient CNAs.

Collaborative approach, good quality. Floors sometimes struggle; ICU has excellent nurse-to-patient ratios.

Emanuel is the best hospital for all healthcare needs; I send my own family here.

Overall care is great, but challenging due to new nurses and grads. More knowledge needed, experience is key.

Hit or miss with quality of care, standard workflow and level not always great. Speak up for yourself or have someone who can. At Kaiser, focus is not truly understanding and solving patient's problems, priority is quick diagnosis and treatment.

Quality of care declining, not recommended for loved ones. Suggest OHSU instead.

Satisfactory care for minor issues, but understaffed - patients need to advocate for themselves.

I love WakeMed. They don't overload us, they care and listen.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Presbyterian Hospital demonstrates average overall patient satisfaction and performs at an average level in terms of mortality rates across all measures. However, it is important to note that the hospital experiences a long wait time in the emergency room, with patients waiting for over 3 hours on average before being seen and treated. On the positive side, the hospital effectively treats conditions such as heart failure, resulting in fewer readmissions. However, it does not perform well in the treatment of conditions like pneumonia, leading to higher readmission rates. Presbyterian Hospital faces challenges in maintaining low infection rates, which is an area of concern. Overall, when considering the quality of care at Presbyterian Hospital, it is important for consumers to be aware of these factors.
