CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

St. Joseph's: kind, helpful, and caring. They treat you like family to help you get well.
Great teamwork, passionate staff, improved care with hospitalists, better communication, accessible doctors, and flexible availability.
Reservations about care quality, uncomfortable bringing family, residents still learning, physicians don't listen, not enough time to educate, shortages, concerned about safety.
Quality of care varies, challenging on busy days. Staffing improved but still need more trained nurses and doctors in pediatrics.
Valley Baptist hospital is definitely preferable over our hospital.
Trust the quality of care, well-rounded specialties, great team, concerns about high utilization of LVNs compared to RNs.
We provide good care, but sometimes lack sufficient CNAs.
Covenant has strong values, motto is 'everyone matters', and aims to provide the best care for every individual.
Emanuel is the best hospital for all healthcare needs; I send my own family here.

Great care, but wouldn't recommend ER for family. Need to be a strong advocate. Lot of traveling/new nurses.
Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Jersey City Medical Center provides average overall patient satisfaction based on the CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data. Patients have reported that the care team can be slow at times in meeting their needs. The hospital's mortality rates are average across all measures. However, the hospital experiences long wait times in the emergency room, with patients waiting on average over 3 hours to be seen and treated. On the positive side, the hospital excels in preventing infections among patients. However, the hospital does not perform well in treating conditions such as heart failure to prevent patients from returning.
