CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight
These comments are not from nurses at Shore Medical Center but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.
Confident in bringing adult loved ones, but iffy about MedSurg unit due to overworked nurses and inconsistent care.
Great learning hospital with supportive team and managers who listen to our concerns. No bad experiences except COVID.
Not recommending due to lack of designated pediatrics unit, as I've seen patients of different ages together.
Standalone ER, serves community. Transfer labor/delivery & pediatrics cases. People come based on personal connections.
Overall, care is good, but staffing hinders quality.
Avoid hospital, few specialties, inexperienced staff, lack trust.
Good hospital to seek care from, exceptional quality of care from a patient's and nurse's perspective. Confidently recommend, feel safe bringing my children.
Quality of care in our hospital is really good.
Lack of attention to patients. Concerned about understaffing and lack of communication. Patients unaware of treatment. Focus on documentation and money. Inadequate resources.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Shore Medical Center maintains an average level of patient satisfaction based on CMS HCAHPS ratings and quality data. The hospital operates with some effectiveness in terms of ER wait times, as patients are attended to and provided treatment within a reasonable window of 2-3 hours. However, Shore Medical Center falls short in effectively addressing conditions like pneumonia, resulting in patients needing to return to the hospital for further care. Conversely, the hospital does excel in its efforts to prevent infections among patients, surpassing the average standard in this aspect of care.
