CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

Some departments provide better care, but my department is run well. There are often issues with understaffing and past errors.
Exemplary care; competent nurses and doctors. I would choose St. Joseph for receiving care.
ICU is strong, received award, ED is chaotic, biggest in the area, challenging to manage.
Great teamwork, but staffing ratios are a downside. Good doctors and nurses. Would recommend for family members.
"I would prefer them to go to Dameron. Honestly, I would have them come because I would be there. There are nurses I would trust with my family."
Our hospital provides good care with a dedicated nursing staff despite limited resources.
Professional, efficient, confident in immediate care. Excellent transitions and collaboration with regular staff. Challenging with temporary staff, but overall seamless care.
High infection rates and complications with routine procedures compared to previous hospital, go elsewhere for routine procedures.
Striving for best care, focusing on patient satisfaction, proud of being recognized as top 100 hospital, only one in Tracy.

Highly recommend my hospital; strong surgical team in orthopedic and urology specialties, but cardio patients get transferred.
Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Based on the CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data, it is important to note that Banner Ocotillo Medical Center has received low overall patient satisfaction. Patients have reported that the care team at times can be slow in meeting their needs. Furthermore, the hospital shows average performance in every measured mortality rate. Additionally, the hospital experiences a lengthy average ER wait time, with patients waiting over 3 hours to be seen and treated. It is worth mentioning that Banner Ocotillo Medical Center does not perform well in effectively treating conditions like heart failure, leading to a higher likelihood of patients having to return to the hospital.
