CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

We have not started to research this hospital, but you can see what comments are for hospitals with similar patient satisfaction rates:

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at Verde Valley Medical Center but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Excellent handling of stroke patients in the Emergency Department, but delays and lower quality care in med-surg floors.

The hospital is okay, not too bad, but challenging due to frequent staff turnover, particularly in the ED.

Overall, the nurse feels the hospital has good quality of care, a strong sense of family, and knowledge of each other. However, some departments are stronger than others, with the ER currently being the weakest.

Recommended for cardiac events, but limitations in resources can cause delays, particularly for non-cardiac cases. Top-rated for cardiac care in Kansas City.

Overall, good care, outdated facilities, competent doctors, dedicated staff, highly skilled nursing, good patient care.

Highly recommend hospital, especially cardiology department. Shortage of staff, but not as dire as it seems.

Good care, recommend St. Luke's for accommodating patients, no discharge without proper follow-up.

Depends on the person they see.

The nursing staff is incredible, but the lack of resources and physician availability would influence my opinion on Menorah.

Don't go to Dameron, policies and processes are not well put together, staff is unhappy, management doesn't pay attention to teams.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Verde Valley Medical Center provides an average overall patient satisfaction. The hospital's performance in mortality rates is average across all measured indicators. However, one area of concern is the prolonged wait time in the emergency room, with patients waiting for over 3 hours on average to be seen and treated. Notably, the hospital excels in treating conditions like heart attacks, heart failure, and pneumonia, ensuring that patients do not have to return for additional hospital care.
