CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Safe and compassionate hospital with great nurses and doctors; referred my family there. Patients love how they're treated.

Quality of care is good overall, but varies by unit.

Excellent care from coworkers, but not enough time for each patient. Common challenge in healthcare. Committed to doing our best.

Decline in hospital quality since Adventist Health took over, more confident in ICU, depends on loved one's unit.

Highly recommend my hospital; strong surgical team in orthopedic and urology specialties, but cardio patients get transferred.

Great learning hospital with supportive team and managers who listen to our concerns. No bad experiences except COVID.

Good hospital to seek care from, exceptional quality of care from a patient's and nurse's perspective. Confidently recommend, feel safe bringing my children.

Quality of care in our hospital is really good.

A strong advocate, believes in the care provided, and recommends hospital to friends and family.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center demonstrates an average level of overall patient satisfaction, as evident in the CMS HCAHPS patient ratings. The hospital maintains an average performance across all measured mortality rates. One area of concern lies with the extended ER wait times, with patients enduring an average wait exceeding 3 hours before receiving essential treatment. However, the hospital excels in effectively treating conditions such as heart failure, reducing the likelihood of readmission. Nevertheless, Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center faces challenges in maintaining infection rates within acceptable limits, with some instances of higher infection rates reported.
