CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

We have not started to research this hospital, but you can see what comments are for hospitals with similar patient satisfaction rates:

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at Community Medical Center but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Smaller hospital allows for more personalized care and attention to patients due to fewer patients to care for.

Highly recommended hospital for family members.

The nursing staff is incredible, but the lack of resources and physician availability would influence my opinion on Menorah.

Excellent care from coworkers, but not enough time for each patient. Common challenge in healthcare. Committed to doing our best.

Excellent care, challenges with staffing, transfer to OHSU for surgery.

Highly skilled staff and expertise in doctors make Portland Adventist a top choice for quality care.

Depends on the person they see.

Good care, recommend St. Luke's for accommodating patients, no discharge without proper follow-up.

Quality of care good, but understaffed like all hospitals.

Depends on what they're looking for. Strong CT, cardiothoracic program. AHA-certified with stroke treatments, but all done via telehealth. Uncomfortable with Stanford consultations. Not for pediatrics.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Based on CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data, Community Medical Center demonstrates average overall patient satisfaction. Patients have reported that the care team can occasionally be slow in meeting their needs. The hospital is average in every measured mortality rate. Additionally, Community Medical Center boasts a low ER wait and treatment time of less than 2 hours. Furthermore, the hospital excels in treating conditions such as heart attacks to prevent patients from requiring readmission. Moreover, Community Medical Center goes above average in ensuring patients do not acquire infections during their stay.
