CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

We have not started to research this hospital, but you can see what comments are for hospitals with similar patient satisfaction rates:

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at Belton Regional Medical Center but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Overall, the nurse feels the hospital has good quality of care, a strong sense of family, and knowledge of each other. However, some departments are stronger than others, with the ER currently being the weakest.

Very good care, small hospital, limited services, up-to-date facilities

Depends on reason for care, aware of patient needs, advise against if necessary care not provided, multiple factors involved.

Highly recommend hospital, especially cardiology department. Shortage of staff, but not as dire as it seems.

Overall, good care, outdated facilities, competent doctors, dedicated staff, highly skilled nursing, good patient care.

Quality of care good, but understaffed like all hospitals.

Depends on the person they see.

Good care, recommend St. Luke's for accommodating patients, no discharge without proper follow-up.

Nurses stretched thin, skimping on personalized care. Admit for general issues, but if acutely ill, things might get missed. Ship loved ones elsewhere.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Belton Regional Medical Center has received mixed reviews on its quality of care based on the CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data. Overall patient satisfaction at the hospital is reported to be low. Some patients have expressed that the care team can occasionally be slow in meeting their needs. In terms of mortality rates, the hospital performs at an average level across all measured conditions. However, one positive aspect is that Belton Regional Medical Center has a low emergency room wait and treatment time, with patients typically being treated in under two hours. On the other hand, the hospital falls short in effectively treating conditions like pneumonia, leading to a higher rate of patients needing to return for further care. Additionally, the hospital faces challenges in maintaining low infection rates.
