CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Quality of care is excellent; exceptional care is provided in the women's service line.
Overworked nurses, lack of care on regular floors. ER constantly full with burnout. Recommend NICU and trauma.
Would recommend high-risk women go to Overland Park for delivery; Level III NICU, but no ECMO, trachs, or complex heart surgeries.
We provide good care, but sometimes lack sufficient CNAs.
100% commitment to patients, amazing teamwork, not feeling alone, always room for improvement.
Covenant is one of the best hospitals, but I have concerns about the quality of care during the COVID pandemic.
Cannot receive care here due to insurance.
Overall care is great, but challenging due to new nurses and grads. More knowledge needed, experience is key.
Poor staffing, unsupportive management, staffing crisis, inadequate care, patients lack necessary service and attention.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Based on the CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data, Mercy Hospital Jefferson demonstrates average overall patient satisfaction. The hospital's measured mortality rates, across different conditions, are average compared to industry standards. However, it is worth noting that the hospital's emergency department has a longer wait time, with patients waiting for an average of over 3 hours before being seen and treated. Additionally, the hospital could improve its effectiveness in treating conditions such as heart attacks to reduce the likelihood of patients having to return for further care.
