CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight
These comments are not from nurses at Sinai-Grace Hospital but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.
Quality of care is not satisfactory due to shortage of nurses. I would not recommend coming here.
People I work with are caring and professional. Concerned about staffing and patient care, advocating for safe ratios.
Quality of care needs improvement, nursing shortage, high physician turnover, focus on profit, lacking necessary equipment, issues within our hospital.
Great care, chaotic unit, busy, but team works tirelessly to meet everyone's needs to the best of our ability.
Quality of care comparable to other hospitals in Kansas City, but not my top pick due to staffing issues.
Doing their best with limited resources, but some nurses don't care. Advocate for your family member or pull the nurse card. Mixed recommendations.
"Depends on the unit. Would recommend hospital overall, but hesitant about the ED. Staff seems hardened and uncaring."
Staffing issues have impacted the quality of care; unsure which hospital to recommend.
Exemplary care; competent nurses and doctors. I would choose St. Joseph for receiving care.

We care for our patients well, with attentive managers. As a newer nurse, I'm still learning.
Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Sinai-Grace Hospital has received very low overall patient satisfaction ratings, with patients expressing challenges in multiple areas. Nurse communication and staff responsiveness to patient needs are reported as significant challenges, as is communication about medications and discharge/follow-up instructions. Patients also reported significant challenges with transitions between departments and expressed concerns about the cleanliness of the hospital. Additionally, patients have experienced long wait times in the emergency room, with an average wait time of over 3 hours. The hospital performs averagely in terms of mortality rates, but it does not excel in treating conditions like heart failure and pneumonia to prevent patients from returning to the hospital. However, the hospital does stand out for its exceptional efforts to prevent infections among patients.
