CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Good hospital, caring doctors, competent nurses. Prefer over other hospitals. Some downsides, but Olathe tries to accommodate.

Quality of care not good. Severely short-staffed. Hinders ability to provide adequate nursing care. Difficult patient staffing ratios.

Quality of care varies based on factors including stress level, patient load, and staffing; sometimes we have 5-6 patients.

Lack of attention to patients. Concerned about understaffing and lack of communication. Patients unaware of treatment. Focus on documentation and money. Inadequate resources.

Excellent care, great teamwork, happy staff, supportive management, feels like family, patient safety priority, great place to work.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Cape Cod Healthcare receives an average overall patient satisfaction rating. Patient feedback indicates that there are instances where the care team may be slow in meeting their needs. The hospital, unfortunately, has a long ER wait time, with patients waiting for over 3 hours on average to be seen and treated. However, Cape Cod Healthcare excels in preventing infections, performing above-average in ensuring patients at the hospital do not acquire infections. There is room for improvement in effectively treating conditions like pneumonia to reduce the likelihood of patients returning to the hospital.
