CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Don't go to Dameron, policies and processes are not well put together, staff is unhappy, management doesn't pay attention to teams.
Great teamwork, but staffing ratios are a downside. Good doctors and nurses. Would recommend for family members.
Our hospital provides good care with a dedicated nursing staff despite limited resources.
There are areas for improvement, good community hospital overall, but for critical issues, seek treatment elsewhere.
"Our care is pretty good. We don't get enough credit. We are a smaller community hospital and we do pretty good work there."
Good care after ER, but CNAs lack motivation, low morale, and provide subpar care without seeming to care.
Excellent care, challenges with staffing, transfer to OHSU for surgery.
Excellent care from coworkers, but not enough time for each patient. Common challenge in healthcare. Committed to doing our best.
Staffing is inadequate, mostly composed of new grads, and experienced nurses are leaving, raising doubts about their skills.

I work with great people, doctors communicate well, and the nurses provide excellent care.
Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Based on CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data, UMD Upper Chesapeake Medical Center reflects an average level of overall patient satisfaction. However, patients have reported that the care team at times can be slow in meeting their needs. Additionally, it is worth noting that the hospital has a long emergency room wait time, with an average of over 3 hours for patients to be seen and treated. Furthermore, the hospital's performance in treating conditions such as pneumonia does not appear to effectively prevent patients from having to return to the hospital.
