CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at Garrett Regional Medical Center but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Very good care, small hospital, limited services, up-to-date facilities

Excellent care, 10/10. Personal experience confirms exceptional care, great staff, and high quality service at this hospital.

Striving for best care, focusing on patient satisfaction, proud of being recognized as top 100 hospital, only one in Tracy.

Quality of care good, but understaffed like all hospitals.

Great nurses, poor management, staffing issues, recommend other hospitals, lack of specialty doctors.

Better care in ICU/critical care, new grads in med/surg, low staffing ratios affect quality of care.

Good care, recommend St. Luke's for accommodating patients, no discharge without proper follow-up.

Quality of care is average to above average.

The nursing staff is incredible, but the lack of resources and physician availability would influence my opinion on Menorah.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Garrett Regional Medical Center has received high overall patient satisfaction ratings, with patients reporting that staff was quick in responding to their needs and meeting them efficiently. The hospital is particularly praised for its cleanliness. In terms of mortality rates, the hospital performs at an average level across all measures. The average wait time in the emergency department is 2-3 hours, and patients appreciate the promptness in receiving treatment. However, the hospital does face challenges with high infection rates.
