CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Quality of care is good overall, but varies by unit.

Excellent care from coworkers, but not enough time for each patient. Common challenge in healthcare. Committed to doing our best.

Perform high-quality care, but expect long wait times. Nice ICU, good team of physicians, surgeons, and providers. Overall, really good job.

Overall, excellent care in LD, unsure about other areas. Close to home, good community hospital.

Good hospital to seek care from, exceptional quality of care from a patient's and nurse's perspective. Confidently recommend, feel safe bringing my children.

Quality of care in our hospital is really good.

Good care, but staffing needs improvement; still comfortable with family coming here.

Floors: Excellent care. ER: Not up to par,

Decline in hospital quality since Adventist Health took over, more confident in ICU, depends on loved one's unit.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Adventist Healthcare White Oak Medical Center provides average overall patient satisfaction and demonstrates average mortality rates across various conditions. However, the hospital experiences long wait times in the Emergency Room, with patients waiting over 3 hours on average to be seen and treated. The hospital does not perform well in treating conditions such as heart attacks, heart failure, and pneumonia, as patients frequently return to the hospital for further treatment related to these conditions. Despite these shortcomings, the hospital stands out in its exceptional efforts to prevent infections among its patients.
