CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Definitely recommend Covenant hospital; confident in their new charting system.

Covenant is one of the best hospitals, but I have concerns about the quality of care during the COVID pandemic.

Good care for loved ones at this hospital.

Strongly recommend hospital over others, highest level of care in emergency, critical care, and pediatrics in Portland area.

Highly recommend hospital. Personal experience with quality care for special needs son. Level 1 trauma hospital with expertise and resources.

Emanuel is the best hospital for all healthcare needs; I send my own family here.

Quality of care declining, not recommended for loved ones. Suggest OHSU instead.

nervous, worried, lengthy stay, delays, good outpatient and telemedicine care

Hospitals suffer from inadequate staffing, overwhelming physicians, and a high turnover rate among young nurses. Change is needed.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Tulane Medical Center provides average overall patient satisfaction and offers an average emergency department (ER) wait time, with patients typically seen and treated within 2-3 hours. However, the hospital may not excel in effectively treating conditions such as heart attacks and heart failure, which may result in patients needing to return for further care. On the other hand, Tulane Medical Center demonstrates above-average efforts to prevent infections among its patients, prioritizing their well-being.
