CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Always recommend Covenant. Excellent care, praised by patients and family members. Chose to work here due to great teamwork.

100% commitment to patients, amazing teamwork, not feeling alone, always room for improvement.

Covenant has strong values, motto is 'everyone matters', and aims to provide the best care for every individual.

Collaborative approach, good quality. Floors sometimes struggle; ICU has excellent nurse-to-patient ratios.

Legacy Emanuel: overall recommended, outlying hospitals inconsistent, violence-prone population, witnessed safety disasters, encounters with individuals carrying weapons, improving safety measures.

Overall care is great, but challenging due to new nurses and grads. More knowledge needed, experience is key.

Poor staffing, unsupportive management, staffing crisis, inadequate care, patients lack necessary service and attention.

It depends on the unit. ED turnover is high. Good experience in OB and PACU units. Wouldn't send family to ED unless basic. Lots of travelers.

Care in ICUs great, concern about other floors, new nurses lack experience, may not know what they are doing.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center demonstrates high overall patient satisfaction. However, it is important to note that the hospital has an extended emergency room wait time, with patients waiting over 3 hours on average to be seen and treated. Additionally, the hospital falls short in effectively treating conditions such as heart attacks, resulting in a higher likelihood of patients needing to return to the hospital. Nonetheless, Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center excels in its efforts to prevent infections among patients, surpassing the average standard in this area.
