CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at The Medical Center At Albany but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Limited services. Room for improvement. Not recommended. Great for Strokes and ICU, but not ER.

Excellent handling of stroke patients in the Emergency Department, but delays and lower quality care in med-surg floors.

Very comfortable for family in ER, but strongly urge going somewhere else for higher level of care.

Overall, good care, outdated facilities, competent doctors, dedicated staff, highly skilled nursing, good patient care.

Better care in ICU/critical care, new grads in med/surg, low staffing ratios affect quality of care.

Emergency Dept recommended for better care, floor nurses less welcoming due to heavy patient load.

Decent quality of care in our hospital.

Trust the quality of care, feel safe here receiving treatment in our hospital.

The nursing staff is incredible, but the lack of resources and physician availability would influence my opinion on Menorah.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

The Medical Center At Albany provides average quality care as indicated by their CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data. The hospital demonstrates average performance across all measured mortality rates. Additionally, the average ER wait time at the hospital is 2-3 hours, ensuring patients are seen and treated promptly. However, it is important to note that The Medical Center At Albany faces challenges with maintaining high infection rates.
