CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at Baptist Health Paducah but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Standalone ER, serves community. Transfer labor/delivery & pediatrics cases. People come based on personal connections.

Avoid hospital, few specialties, inexperienced staff, lack trust.

Overall, care is good, but staffing hinders quality.

Poor quality of care with patients arriving from the floor with bad IVs and covered in stool or urine, sometimes without a gown.

For neurology or stroke, definitely recommend our hospital. For other medical conditions, advise seeking treatment elsewhere.

Excellent care, best possible for all.

Good hospital, caring doctors, competent nurses. Prefer over other hospitals. Some downsides, but Olathe tries to accommodate.

Great care, physicians competent. Hospitals need better communication and information sharing. Important to have advocate. Busy, but seasoned nurses helpful.

Not recommended for bariatric surgery, but good care for pneumonia or similar conditions.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Baptist Health Paducah consistently receives high overall patient satisfaction ratings. However, it is important to note that the hospital has a relatively long ER wait time, with an average wait of over 3 hours for patients to be seen and treated. On the positive side, Baptist Health Paducah demonstrates exceptional performance in ensuring that patients at the hospital do not contract infections. These facts help consumers understand the quality of care provided at Baptist Health Paducah, allowing them to make informed decisions about their healthcare options.
