CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at Baptist Health Lexington but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Quality of care okay, but demanding workload with five patients per nurse in my unit.

Hospital highly recommended; quality of care truly excellent for anyone I care about.

ICUs provide good care, but understaffed floors lead to a decline in quality, with inadequate time for patients and inconsistent care from CNAs and Resource Nurses.

Nursing care depends on individual nurses and workload. Traveler nurses may lack investment and familiarity, causing delays and confusion.

Depends on location, consistent care, Duke good for resources, average overall care.

UNC has better food, long-term stay is a negative, Duke is understaffed, lacks support for nurses and families, not supportive of bone marrow transplant ICU.

I recommend my hospital; strong teamwork, good care in all areas, witnessed quality care across various departments, overall really good care.

Our hospital is the best in the area.

Definitely recommend our hospital, colleagues provide good care.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Baptist Health Lexington has achieved high overall patient satisfaction. However, it is important to note that the hospital is experiencing long ER wait times, with an average wait of over 3 hours for patients to be seen and treated. Additionally, the hospital does not demonstrate success in treating conditions such as heart attacks and pneumonia, leading to a higher likelihood of patients needing to return for follow-up care. Nonetheless, the hospital excels in preventing the occurrence of infections among its patients.
