CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight
These comments are not from nurses at Bourbon Community Hospital but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.
The hospital is okay, not too bad, but challenging due to frequent staff turnover, particularly in the ED.
Overall, the nurse feels the hospital has good quality of care, a strong sense of family, and knowledge of each other. However, some departments are stronger than others, with the ER currently being the weakest.
Very comfortable for family in ER, but strongly urge going somewhere else for higher level of care.
Quality of care good, but understaffed like all hospitals.
Limited services, specialized areas best, but not for having a baby due to lack of maternity specialist.
Highly recommend hospital, especially cardiology department. Shortage of staff, but not as dire as it seems.
Hospitals aren't what you think they are, the reality is quite complex.
Decent quality of care in our hospital.
"Not recommended. Quality of care lacking, unsure if due to younger/newer staff or specific training."

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Based on the CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data for Bourbon Community Hospital, it can be observed that the hospital performs at an average level in terms of mortality rates across all measured categories. Moreover, the hospital demonstrates an efficient system with a low ER wait and treatment time, typically less than 2 hours. Furthermore, Bourbon Community Hospital excels in the treatment of conditions such as heart failure, ensuring that patients do not frequently need to be readmitted. However, it is important to note that the hospital faces challenges in managing infection rates, which are comparatively high.
