CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

These comments are not from nurses at St Elizabeth Florence but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Overall, good care, outdated facilities, competent doctors, dedicated staff, highly skilled nursing, good patient care.

Highly recommend hospital, especially cardiology department. Shortage of staff, but not as dire as it seems.

Overall, good job, caring nurses, lack of medical oversight impacting care quality.

Good hospital, not recommended for ED due to lack of support staff. Other hospitals have more resources for safe patient care.

Level of care at hospital is outstanding

Care is satisfactory; quality can vary depending on nurse and unit, but we genuinely strive for the best despite challenges.

Unsafe, understaffed, business-focused. Recommend the Plaza, better care, staffing ratios the same, residents, fellows, attending physicians at Barnes Jewish.

Quality of care is great, staff is likable.

Perform high-quality care, but expect long wait times. Nice ICU, good team of physicians, surgeons, and providers. Overall, really good job.

Unsafe practices, old and disconnected systems, poor safety practices. Don't go there, I wouldn't refer my loved ones to Dameron Hospital.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

St Elizabeth Florence performs at an average level across key quality indicators. The hospital's overall patient satisfaction rating falls within average range. Additionally, St Elizabeth Florence demonstrates average mortality rates across all measured categories. With regards to the emergency department, the hospital maintains an average wait time, ensuring patients are seen and treated within an estimated period of 2-3 hours. However, the hospital struggles in effectively treating conditions such as pneumonia, as evidenced by a higher rate of patients returning for further care.
