CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Lack of attention to patients. Concerned about understaffing and lack of communication. Patients unaware of treatment. Focus on documentation and money. Inadequate resources.

Quality of care declined recently.

Excellent care, best possible for all.

Patients seen by multiple doctors within group, not followed by one doctor - something I've noticed.

Avoid hospital, few specialties, inexperienced staff, lack trust.

Kaiser is well-managed, nothing to improve.

Would recommend for Ed, doctors knowledgeable, attending involved. Inpatient setting lacks resources, nurses burned out, semi-private rooms.

Less confidence in Truman Hospital due to witnessed missed diagnoses, disregarded patient complaints, and high workload.

Overwhelmed staff on regular med surge floors, would prefer sending family to another hospital, due to insufficient staffing.

Advise seeking care elsewhere due to doctor turnover. Recommend going to KU.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center demonstrates average overall patient satisfaction. In terms of mortality rates, the hospital performs at an average level across all measured areas. Additionally, the hospital maintains an average emergency room wait time, with patients typically being seen and treated within a 2-3 hour timeframe. However, the hospital shows room for improvement in effectively treating conditions such as heart failure and pneumonia, as patients tend to return to the hospital for further treatment related to these conditions.
