CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight
These comments are not from nurses at Methodist Hospitals Inc but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.
Quality of care at the hospital is a 5/10; provider-dependent. Some are knowledgeable and provide great care, others, especially new grads, may not. Pandemic exposed weaknesses, need proper fixes.
Hospital care poor. Wouldn't recommend. Understaffed. Administration doesn't care. Overwhelming number of patients makes it difficult to provide proper care.
Exceptional nurses, hardworking doctors and staff, top-notch care, multitude of resources, best possible treatment. Very fortunate.
Reservations about care quality, uncomfortable bringing family, residents still learning, physicians don't listen, not enough time to educate, shortages, concerned about safety.
Exemplary care; competent nurses and doctors. I would choose St. Joseph for receiving care.
Great teamwork, passionate staff, improved care with hospitalists, better communication, accessible doctors, and flexible availability.
Truly good hospital with quality care; I would definitely encourage them to come.
Good quality care, highly skilled doctors, respectful treatment of staff and patients.
Great care, amazing nurses, great doctors, compassionate team - would recommend our hospital to someone I love.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Based on the CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data, Methodist Hospitals Inc. demonstrates some areas of concern regarding their quality of care. The hospital receives low overall patient satisfaction and patients have reported that the care team can be slow in meeting their needs. In terms of mortality rates, the hospital is average across all measured categories. The average ER wait time is around 2-3 hours, which is comparable to other hospitals. However, Methodist Hospitals Inc. struggles in effectively treating conditions such as heart attacks, heart failure, and pneumonia, leading to a higher rate of patients needing to return to the hospital. On the positive side, the hospital excels in preventing infections among patients.
