CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight
These comments are not from nurses at Taylorville Memorial Hospital but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.
Excellent handling of stroke patients in the Emergency Department, but delays and lower quality care in med-surg floors.
Overall, the nurse feels the hospital has good quality of care, a strong sense of family, and knowledge of each other. However, some departments are stronger than others, with the ER currently being the weakest.
Very comfortable for family in ER, but strongly urge going somewhere else for higher level of care.
Limited services, specialized areas best, but not for having a baby due to lack of maternity specialist.
Better care in ICU/critical care, new grads in med/surg, low staffing ratios affect quality of care.
Overall, good care, outdated facilities, competent doctors, dedicated staff, highly skilled nursing, good patient care.
Trust the quality of care, feel safe here receiving treatment in our hospital.
Good care, recommend St. Luke's for accommodating patients, no discharge without proper follow-up.
Care is satisfactory; quality can vary depending on nurse and unit, but we genuinely strive for the best despite challenges.

Not a very nice hospital, but ER doctors are good. Nursing care can be inconsistent, working on improving.
Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Taylorville Memorial Hospital has shown average results in all measured mortality rates. The hospital's emergency department (ED) experiences an average waiting time, with patients typically being seen and treated within 2-3 hours. However, it is worth noting that the hospital does not excel in effective treatment for conditions such as pneumonia, resulting in a higher likelihood of patients needing to return for further care.
