CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

We have not started to research this hospital, but you can see what comments are for hospitals with similar patient satisfaction rates:

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at Insight Hospital And Medical Center Chicago but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Professional, efficient, confident in immediate care. Excellent transitions and collaboration with regular staff. Challenging with temporary staff, but overall seamless care.

Culture of safety is top priority, best in area; would choose prestigious hospital for surgery without hesitation.

I would definitely recommend my friends and neighbors to come here for both elective and emergency care because we're pretty good.

Good care after ER, but CNAs lack motivation, low morale, and provide subpar care without seeming to care.

Quality of care varies depending on staff. ER can be challenging, but cardiology team provides excellent care. MedSurg floors can be rough, with potential for things to be overlooked if not severely ill.

Limited specialties, recommend bigger hospitals for specific needs, transfer and wait for beds sometimes.

Don't go to Dameron, policies and processes are not well put together, staff is unhappy, management doesn't pay attention to teams.

Depends on what they're looking for. Strong CT, cardiothoracic program. AHA-certified with stroke treatments, but all done via telehealth. Uncomfortable with Stanford consultations. Not for pediatrics.

Overall, the nurse feels that the quality of care in their hospital is good, but wishes they could do more.

Confident in bringing adult loved ones, but iffy about MedSurg unit due to overworked nurses and inconsistent care.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Insight Hospital And Medical Center Chicago displays low overall patient satisfaction, as reported by CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data. Patients have faced challenges with nurse communication and staff responsiveness to their needs. The hospital also received negative feedback concerning the cleanliness of its premises. However, in terms of mortality rates, Insight Hospital is deemed average across all measurements. The facility's emergency department has an average wait time, with patients being seen and treated within a 2-3 hour timeframe. Unfortunately, the hospital falls short in effectively treating conditions like heart failure, resulting in a higher likelihood of patients returning. Additionally, Insight Hospital struggles with maintaining high infection control.
