CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

We have not started to research this hospital, but you can see what comments are for hospitals with similar patient satisfaction rates:

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at St Joseph Regional Medical Center but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Better care in ICU/critical care, new grads in med/surg, low staffing ratios affect quality of care.

Overall, good job, caring nurses, lack of medical oversight impacting care quality.

Highly recommend hospital, especially cardiology department. Shortage of staff, but not as dire as it seems.

Very comfortable for family in ER, but strongly urge going somewhere else for higher level of care.

Striving for best care, focusing on patient satisfaction, proud of being recognized as top 100 hospital, only one in Tracy.

The hospital is okay, not too bad, but challenging due to frequent staff turnover, particularly in the ED.

Good hospital, not recommended for ED due to lack of support staff. Other hospitals have more resources for safe patient care.

The nursing staff is incredible, but the lack of resources and physician availability would influence my opinion on Menorah.

Great hospital that cares for employees, provides good benefits, and stands out in their commitment to quality care.

Not recommend for all family, but good overall. Top cardiology surgeon. Recommend specific unit. Coworkers welcoming. Solid staff. Manager and peers are supportive. Tricky location. High drug overdose and homeless population.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

St Joseph Regional Medical Center provides average overall patient satisfaction and demonstrates average performance across all measured mortality rates. With an extended waiting time in the emergency room, averaging over 3 hours for patients to be seen and treated, the hospital acknowledges room for improvement in this aspect. However, St Joseph excels in treating conditions such as heart attacks, heart failure, and pneumonia, successfully minimizing the likelihood of patient readmissions. Nevertheless, the hospital faces challenges with higher infection rates.
