CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight
These comments are not from nurses at Doctors Hospital but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.
Confident in loved ones coming, unique services, high specialty level in certain areas.
Would recommend high-risk women go to Overland Park for delivery; Level III NICU, but no ECMO, trachs, or complex heart surgeries.
Some good care, but seek care elsewhere at times. Good for quick help in trauma situations, but cardiac doctors prioritize revenue and don't always consider patient needs. Fast doctor, but poor outcomes.
Overwhelmed staff on regular med surge floors, would prefer sending family to another hospital, due to insufficient staffing.
Great care, physicians competent. Hospitals need better communication and information sharing. Important to have advocate. Busy, but seasoned nurses helpful.
Highly skilled and capable doctors and nurses, confident and comfortable with their level of care, compared to healthcare options in Kansas City.
Truly exceptional care, hardworking team, life-saving efforts, amazing unity.
Recommended for cardiac care and having a baby, but concerns about GI care, suggesting to consider other options for general surgery.
Quality of care not good. Severely short-staffed. Hinders ability to provide adequate nursing care. Difficult patient staffing ratios.

Would recommend for Ed, doctors knowledgeable, attending involved. Inpatient setting lacks resources, nurses burned out, semi-private rooms.
Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Doctors Hospital receives an average overall patient satisfaction, according to CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data. Patients have reported that the care team may be slow in meeting their needs. Furthermore, the hospital demonstrates average performance in every measured mortality rate. However, one area of concern is the extended ER wait time, spanning over 3 hours on average for patients to be seen and treated. While the hospital does not excel in treating conditions like pneumonia to prevent readmissions, it excels in ensuring patients are not prone to infections during their stay.
