CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at Prattville Baptist Hospital but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Excellent handling of stroke patients in the Emergency Department, but delays and lower quality care in med-surg floors.

Excellent care, 10/10. Personal experience confirms exceptional care, great staff, and high quality service at this hospital.

Very comfortable for family in ER, but strongly urge going somewhere else for higher level of care.

Great nurses, poor management, staffing issues, recommend other hospitals, lack of specialty doctors.

Emergency Dept recommended for better care, floor nurses less welcoming due to heavy patient load.

Limited services, specialized areas best, but not for having a baby due to lack of maternity specialist.

Decent quality of care in our hospital.

Hospitals aren't what you think they are, the reality is quite complex.

"Not recommended. Quality of care lacking, unsure if due to younger/newer staff or specific training."

Perform high-quality care, but expect long wait times. Nice ICU, good team of physicians, surgeons, and providers. Overall, really good job.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Prattville Baptist Hospital consistently demonstrates high levels of patient satisfaction based on CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data. Patients affirm that the hospital staff promptly responds to their needs and excels in meeting their requirements in a timely manner. With regards to mortality rates, the hospital maintains an average performance across all measured areas. However, it is worth noting that the hospital experiences longer wait times in the emergency room, with patients typically waiting over 3 hours for assessment and treatment. Additionally, Prattville Baptist Hospital shows room for improvement in effectively treating conditions such as heart failure to prevent readmissions.
