CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Exceptional nurses, hardworking doctors and staff, top-notch care, multitude of resources, best possible treatment. Very fortunate.

Understaffed but dedicated nurses strive to provide quality care despite challenging conditions, going above and beyond for patients.

Hospital care poor. Wouldn't recommend. Understaffed. Administration doesn't care. Overwhelming number of patients makes it difficult to provide proper care.

Some departments provide better care, but my department is run well. There are often issues with understaffing and past errors.

Not recommending hospital, ED unit lacking, insufficient patient care.

St. Joseph's: kind, helpful, and caring. They treat you like family to help you get well.

Choose nurse and doctor carefully, no concerns when transferring patients to ICU or MedSurg.

"Extraordinary care in north tower. Patients on other floors don't receive the same level. DHR is the best hospital."

Fantastic mental health unit, but hesitant to recommend medically.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital has received low overall patient satisfaction ratings according to CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data. Patients have reported that the care team can be slow at times in meeting their needs. The hospital shows average performance in terms of mortality rates. However, the hospital does excel in certain areas, such as maintaining a low ER wait and treatment time of less than 2 hours. On the other hand, HCA Florida Brandon Hospital has room for improvement in treating conditions like heart attacks, heart failure, and pneumonia in order to prevent patients from returning to the hospital. Notably, the hospital does an exceptional job in ensuring that patients do not contract infections during their stay.
