CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.

How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?

With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).

While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight

We have not started to research this hospital, but you can see what comments are for hospitals with similar patient satisfaction rates:

Nurses Say it Straight

These comments are not from nurses at Adventhealth Tampa but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.

Reservations about care quality, uncomfortable bringing family, residents still learning, physicians don't listen, not enough time to educate, shortages, concerned about safety.

Not recommending hospital, ED unit lacking, insufficient patient care.

Overall, the hospital is doing a good job and worth mentioning that it is now a teaching hospital for doctors.

Quality of care varies, challenging on busy days. Staffing improved but still need more trained nurses and doctors in pediatrics.

Quality of care depends on doctor and nurse, bad ones leave you out of luck, same for any hospital.

We care for our patients well, with attentive managers. As a newer nurse, I'm still learning.

"For ER, great nurses and excellent doctors. But for floor care, it varies depending on the unit and nurse."

Covenant has strong values, motto is 'everyone matters', and aims to provide the best care for every individual.

Overall care is great, but challenging due to new nurses and grads. More knowledge needed, experience is key.

Great care, but wouldn't recommend ER for family. Need to be a strong advocate. Lot of traveling/new nurses.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:

Adventhealth Tampa demonstrates average overall patient satisfaction based on CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data. Patients have reported that the care team can be slow at times in meeting their needs, while also expressing challenges with the cleanliness of the hospital. The hospital's mortality rates are average for all measured conditions. In terms of emergency care, the hospital maintains an average wait time, with patients typically being seen and treated within 2-3 hours. However, the hospital struggles in effectively treating conditions such as heart attacks and heart failure, resulting in a higher likelihood of patients needing to return for further treatment. On the positive side, Adventhealth Tampa excels in preventing infections among its patients.
