CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Nurses Say it Straight
These comments are not from nurses at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital but are instead nurse comments from hospitals with a similar size and quality ratings for illustration of what feedback from nurses at a hospital of this size and quality might be.
Great teamwork, passionate staff, improved care with hospitalists, better communication, accessible doctors, and flexible availability.
Some departments provide better care, but my department is run well. There are often issues with understaffing and past errors.
Excellent quality of care with skilled team, teamwork, collaboration, and adequate staff including residents, interns, and nursing students.
Valley Baptist hospital is definitely preferable over our hospital.
Quality of care depends on doctor and nurse, bad ones leave you out of luck, same for any hospital.
I would recommend this hospital for good quality care; I have worked and been a patient here.
Varied experiences across departments.
Doing their best with limited resources, but some nurses don't care. Advocate for your family member or pull the nurse card. Mixed recommendations.
Better seek care elsewhere. Staffing issues, overwhelmed staff, unable to establish connection with patients.

Covenant is one of the best hospitals, but I have concerns about the quality of care during the COVID pandemic.
Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital demonstrates average performance across all measured mortality rates. Additionally, patient satisfaction is reported to be low overall. One area in need of improvement is the hospital's long emergency room wait time, with patients experiencing an average waiting period of over 3 hours before receiving treatment. However, the hospital excels in treating conditions such as heart failure, resulting in a low rate of readmissions. Moreover, the hospital showcases exceptional efforts in preventing infections among its patients.
