CareLuminate does not have nurse interviews for this hospital currently, but is estimating the Nurse Recommendation Score based on the strong relationship between patient feedback and nurse feedback.
How Does CareLuminate Estimate The Nurse Recommendation Score?
With over 1,000 nurses having participated with CareLuminate to date, we have found that the relationship between hospital patient recommendation ratings and nurse recommendation ratings is very strong (p<.001, R-squared = .42).
While the two ratings are often similar, the comments from nurses are extremely important because they show an important 'inside view' into strengths or concerns in a hospital. CareLuminate is working towards offering nurse insights into every hospital in the US.

Summary of Hospital-Reported Data
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires hospitals to collect and report on hospital quality and patient satisfaction data. While the data can be dated (collected 1 to 4 years ago) the insights are an important view into hospital safety and quality. We looked through all of this data, and here is our summary of what we found:
HCA Florida Highlands Hospital is a healthcare facility that has received mixed reviews from patients, based on the CMS HCAHPS patient ratings and quality data. While the hospital shows room for improvement, it is important to note that the hospital performs satisfactorily in certain areas. Patient satisfaction is lower than desired overall, with concerns raised regarding communication about medications and challenges experienced during transitions between departments. Additionally, patients have reported concerns about the hospital's cleanliness. The hospital's mortality rates are average across the board, indicating an average level of care provided. The emergency room wait time falls within the average range, with patients typically being seen and treated within 2-3 hours. The hospital is recognized for effectively treating conditions such as heart attacks, ensuring that patients do not need to return for further treatment. However, the hospital struggles in effectively treating conditions like pneumonia, leading to higher readmission rates. Moreover, the hospital faces difficulties in maintaining low infection rates.
